NoMagnetoCompass - A Compass Without Magnetometer
NoMagnetoCompass is a free Android application developed by AndroAtticus that works as a compass without needing a magnetometer. The app works based on the position of the sun, which means that it can be used in places where traditional compasses fail, or when the device does not have a magnetometer.
Upon opening the app, it immediately displays whether your device has a magnetometer sensor. If it does, the app will still not use it. Instead, it uses your device's geolocation to determine on which hemisphere you are. You can also set the hemisphere manually if you prefer.
So far, no issues have been identified with NoMagnetoCompass. The app is simple, easy to use, and provides an alternative compass solution for those who need it.
